My Opinions....
1. "Enoch's Vision and Gaia: An LDS Perspective on Environment Stewardship" I found this article interesting. I love how it talks about how the Earth has a spirit and is thus a living organism. I guess I never really thought of the Earth of having a spirit, but it totally makes sense! It is interesting how the Word of Wisdom works into all of this. We shall be stewards of the Earth. Thus, we have certain regulations that help us make a happy place/environment in order to do so. In turn, we are allowing the Earth to magnify its calling. The vegetation on Earth is to feed other organisms, and when it is fulfilled, it is happy. 2. "Mormons Want to Save the Planet--It's Part of Their Theology--But Many Shy away from Being Called Environmentalists" I have always had pretty solid views on the environment. I was raised to always recycle, utilize re-usable bags, and NEVER litter. I have been taught at a young age to reduce my "carbon footprint" by all means possible. I know I am not the most nature-friendly person, but I am rather conscious! After reading this article it just provides me with a stronger testimony that we have such a large role in taking care of the Earth. I will continue to be environmentally friendly!! Examples1. Analyze and evaluate your handbook of art and design teaching methods. What works for you? What does not work for you? Write a response and post it along with examples from the book.
I chose Ellen Lupton's "Graphic Design Thinking: Beyond Brainstorming." I really love how this book focuses on the design process. This book presents dozens of tools and techniques to stimulate visual, effective designs and approaches. I love how everything is presented in easy-to-read text along with appropriate graphics and illustrations. I also appreciate that when introducing a new subject, it gave a step-by-step process in what to do. I love how the book also presented "Case Studies." There was nothing that did not work for me in this book. I never felt like it was too cluttered or too unorganized. Lupton definitely edited this book to portray what book is teaching. The design process is helpful and important to be aware of when it is time to communicate information. There is a saying that states " Good design is invisible. Bad design is everywhere." This book definitely radiates what it discusses. I love it! Examples: |
